Raven Cliff Waterfall

Raven Cliff Falls Raven Cliff Falls, GA

Raven Cliff Falls is a unique water fall located on Dodd Creek in Northeast Georgia. The trail head is located off the Richard Russell Scenic Highway (GA Highway 348) about 3 miles north of Highway 75 Alt. outside of Helen, GA. When we were there in early October 2011,the sign for the turn into the trail head was overgrown and we almost missed it.

The trail is an easy 5 miles round trip along Dodd Creek. The trail follows the creek through rhododendron and hemlock forests. The hike is scenic because there are numerous small waterfalls along the way. Be sure to take your time and enjoy these small waterfalls.

The trail is easy without much change in elevation until the end. The it becomes a short but steep rock scramble to the base of the falls.

The falls comes right through a gap in the cliff and is different from most falls in this area. It reminds me of some of the waterfalls in New England. When we were there in early October 2011, the water flow was very low due to the prolonged drought.
